Air conditioner cleaning at home

The indoor unit, the drain and the blower wheel — the parts an ordinary clean never reaches. We work across Montevideo as a two-person team.

A split system passes the whole room through itself. Dust settles on the damp heat exchanger and blower wheel, and what lives in damp dust settles with it. That is where the smell on start-up, the drips from the housing and the sense that the unit no longer cools come from. The filter you rinse yourself only catches the coarse part of this.

Deep cleaning and its price

There is one cleaning to choose from: the deep clean, with the indoor unit taken off the wall and the heat exchanger and blower wheel pressure-washed. We used to offer a cheaper version that left the unit in place, and we stopped. It asked you to guess in advance how dirty the inside of your own unit was, and it often could not fix the thing you called us about.

$3 900 per air conditioner

Unit removed, heat exchanger and blower wheel pressure-washed, drain treated.

What the work covers

  • filters removed and washed
  • indoor heat exchanger cleaned
  • blower wheel cleaned — the main source of the smell
  • drain pan and drain line flushed and treated
  • housing and louvres cleaned
  • wall, floor and furniture under the unit protected while we work
  • operation and drainage checked after reassembly

When it is time to clean

  • a musty or sour smell when the unit starts
  • water dripping from the housing onto the wall or floor
  • dark spots visible on the louvres and inside
  • weaker cooling at the same settings
  • more than a year since the last cleaning
  • someone in the home has allergies, or there is a small child

Add-ons

Options are counted per air conditioner and added to the price of the cleaning you choose.

  • Outdoor unit $1 600
  • Difficult access $900
  • Heavy soiling $700
  • Drain problem or leak $700

How the visit goes

  1. Inspection and setup

We look at the unit, the way in to it and the space below, then cover the wall, floor and furniture.

  2. Turning off the power

We take the unit fully off the supply — at the plug, at a separate isolator or at a known circuit breaker.

  3. Disassembly and cleaning

Filters and panels come off, and we clean the heat exchanger, the blower wheel and the drain.

  4. Reassembly and check

We reassemble, switch on, check the cooling and the drainage, and leave the work area tidy.

Where the service stops

  • cleaning does not replace air conditioner repair
  • we do not recharge refrigerant
  • we do not open electrical panels and we do not work on wiring
  • if the unit is faulty we will say so before cleaning, not after

Where it helps, we test on an inconspicuous area first.

On every job we use reusable cloths and covers, and we dilute our products from concentrate to suit the material. Eco-friendly approach

Team: technician and assistant

A two-person team will arrive for your appointment: a technician and an assistant. This allows us to perform some tasks in parallel, handle removable parts carefully and reduce the overall appointment time.
