Eco-friendly approach

How we work with products and waste

We choose our products by criteria rather than by the label, and we have replaced single-use items with reusable ones wherever it does not cost us the result.

This is not a separate service and not a surcharge. It is how every visit works: there is no "eco option" to tick in the calculator, because there is no other option.

What we require of a product

We name criteria, not brands. A supplier can change; the criteria do not.

  • biodegradable surfactants as the base of the cleaning products
  • no chlorine and no phosphates
  • pH matched to the material: aluminium fins, fabric, enamel and stone each need something different
  • diluted from concentrate to the working strength — not by eye, and not "a bit stronger"
  • no added fragrance where we know about an allergy or a sensitivity to smells
  • ventilation during the work and after it
  • rinsing off wherever the product should not stay on the surface
Does anyone in the property have allergies, asthma or sensitivity to smells or cleaning products?

If anyone in the home has an allergy, asthma or a sensitivity to smells, tell us in the request — there is a question for exactly that. Then we choose the products and the ventilation in advance.

FAQ

What we replaced with reusable kit

A visit used to leave a bag of rubbish behind. These four changes removed most of it.

  • Microfibre instead of paper towels

Microfibre cloths, washed between visits. Different colours for different areas, so the cloth from the bathroom never turns up in the kitchen.

  • Concentrates instead of retail bottles

Products arrive in canisters and are diluted on site into refillable sprayers. There are no disposable retail bottles or aerosol cans in the van.

  • A washing cover for the air conditioner

A reusable cover that drains into a bucket, instead of the film and tape that used to be stuck to the wall and thrown away after every unit.

  • Fabric covers instead of stretch film

We cover floors and furniture with fabric and oilcloth that get washed and go out to the next job.

Why there are no logos here

We do not publish brand names or certification marks. The brand on the canister can change tomorrow while the page stays up — and then the page is lying. The criteria above are what we check at every purchase, and they are what we answer for.

If it matters to you exactly what we will be working with in your home, ask before the visit. We will name what we are bringing.

What "eco" does not mean here

We try to state the limits out loud — here as well.

  • biodegradable does not mean harmless while the product is wet: it is still professional cleaning chemistry
  • children and pets stay out of the work area — that rule does not change
  • some jobs need a strong product: burnt-on grease, old limescale and mould do not come off with a mild one
  • we do not claim the products "suit people with allergies": we ask you to tell us in advance and choose accordingly
  • we hold no environmental certification, and we do not claim one
  • none of this changes the price, in either direction

Where it helps, we test on an inconspicuous area first.
