How do I put the 2 × 250 g plates on a dumbbell?

Put the 2 × 250 g plates one on each side of the bar, so the dumbbell stays balanced and gains 500 g in total. The 28.8 mm hole has clearance to slide the plate onto a 28 mm bar and take it off easily.

What is the difference between the 2-pack and the 4-pack of 250 g plates?

The 2-pack of 250 g plates adds 500 g with one plate per side; the 4-pack adds 1 kg with two plates per side. With the 4-pack you can also start with one per side and move to two when you are ready. The plates are the same in both packs.
